Mark Milton Strickland

March 2, 1961July 18, 2020

Mark Milton Strickland was born March 2, 1961 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on July 18, 2020 at his home. Mark is a native Morgan City but has been a resident of Bayou L’ourse for the last few years. Mark was an avid outdoors man who simply loved to be on the water. Hunting and Fishing were some of his favorite things, but they always came after work. He worked hard for his family sometimes even working seven days a week until a job was complete so that his family wouldn’t go without. He never met a person that would forget him and left his mark on anyone he met.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Matthew Strickland and wife Courtney, of Morgan City, his daughter, Candace Strickland of Morgan City, his step-son Raymond Horton Jr. and wife Jennifer of Youngsville, his godchild Jennifer Bourgeois, former wife and friend Paula Strickland of Morgan City. He also left behind two sisters, Barbara (Lacoste) Swift and husband Jim of Morgan City and Darlene Liner of Florida, two brothers, Joe and Kenneth Sharp of Folsom, and companion of the last few years Trudy Smith of Morgan City. His grandchildren: Alyssa, Trinity, D’Angelo, Sage, Laila, Paisley, Kinzlee, Gage, Lincoln, Roman, and Emmeline as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Loupe, two brothers, Robert “Rayboy” and Johnny Strickland, one sister, Keffey “Kathy” Adams, his mother and father, Winnie and Ray Strickland and numerous other family members.

The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 4pm - 6pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. In keeping with government mandate, the facility can allow 150 guests at a time and requires all guests to wear face masks as well as adhere to social distancing protocols.
