Mary Ann Thompson Gaudet

Mary's faith in God was the foundation of her life, and she loved her Lord and her church with all her heart. Alongside her unwavering faith, her greatest joy and purpose were found in her family, who meant everything to her. Mary was a selfless, loving, and generous woman whose kindness touched countless lives. She faithfully supported many charities and devoted her time to volunteering, always looking for ways to serve others with grace and compassion. As a dedicated member of her church's bereavement committee, she lovingly prepared meals for grieving families, opened her home to those in need of comfort, and offered her presence during life's most difficult moments. She cherished traveling with her beloved husband, Gene, delighting in the opportunity to explore new places and create treasured memories together. An exceptional cook, Mary lovingly prepared meals that brought her large family together around the table, believing that nourishing those she loved was one of life's greatest blessings. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, and feeding others was truly her love language. Her home was always warm, welcoming, and beautifully cared for, a reflection of the pride she took in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She also found great joy in gardening, creating beauty both inside her home and in the flowers and plants she lovingly tended outdoors. Elegant, patient, and steadfast in her love, Mary lived a life of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to others until the day God gently called her home.

Those left to cherish Mary's beautiful memory are her husband of 23 years, Gene Lionel Gaudet of Morgan City; three children, Jason Thompson and his wife, Mary, of Patterson, Angela Vining and her husband, Ronnie, of Berwick, and Kim Bernard and her husband, Shawn, of Berwick; three step children, Lonny Gaudet and his wife, Tiffany, of Lafayette, Johnny Gaudet and his wife, Jill, of Ruston, and Cassy Warren and her husband, Joe, of Montgomery, TX; ten grandchildren, Tabitha, Ashley, Stacy, Amber, Cody, Malerie, Chelsea, Miranda, Caleb, and Kaitlyn;; six step great grandchildren, Fisher, Graham, Cooper, Gabe, Brandon, and Ryan and 22 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Lynette Aulds.

She was reunited in heaven with her first husband, Michael "Mike" Thompson; her parents, Edward and Barbara Guidry; and her siblings, Glenn Guidry and Maxine Brown.

The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 10:00 am until time of services which will begin at 1:00 pm at Immanuel Baptist Church in Morgan City. Pastor David Scott will preside over the services. Following services, Mary will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Thibodaux Regional Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospice for their care of Mary.
