Melissa is survived by her children, Alayna Herrin and Michael Aleksines; five grandchildren, Corey, Lillian, Roma, Nicholas, and Cordelia and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Michael "Mike" Myrick and his wife, Evelyn and her cousin, Susan Jett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Roma Myrick.
In keeping with Melissa's wishes, services will be held privately by family.
