Michael was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose unexpected passing has left an emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A giving and loving man, Michael was always willing to help others. His quick wit and unforgettable sense of humor brought laughter wherever he went.
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a celebration of Michael’s life at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Ministries in Morgan City. Pastor and family friend Herb Stanley will officiate.
Michael’s memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving wife, Tara Gautreaux Fromenthal; his son, Hunter Fromenthal; his daughter, Alexis Bergeron; his father, Thomas “ Tommy” Fromenthal; his mother, Anita Johnson Fromenthal; his father in law, Darell Gautreaux; his brothers, Kevin Fromenthal (Melissa), John Fromenthal (Miriam), and Stephen Fromenthal (Mariah); and his sisters, Rachel Fromenthal (Chris) and Rebecca Fromenthal. He is also survived by his brother in law, Cody Gautreaux; his cousin who was like a brother, Matthew Johnson (Valerie); his nieces, Madeline, Elouise, Charlotte, Remi, and Abigail; and his nephews, Liam, Judah, and Luke.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, including his beloved grandmothers, Mattie Johnson and Ophelia Fromenthal.
Michael was a devoted husband to Tara and loved his family fiercely. He was an incredible father who cherished every moment with his son, Hunter, especially their hunting and fishing adventures. He made sure his daughter, Alexis, always knew how deeply she was loved and supported. His family was his greatest pride and joy. His faith was also an important part of his life.
Michael was always “Uncle Mike” to everyone, whether by blood or by love. He loved his nieces and nephews as his own and had a way of making everyone feel like family.
His laughter, kindness, faith, and generous spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and will be missed more than words can express.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hargrave Funeral Home.
