Molly R Nelkin

October 1, 1959 – February 26, 2013

Molly Rachelle Nelkin, 53, a lifelong resident of Morgan City passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Teche Regional Medical Center.

Molly was a special and unique person with many wonderful qualities. She was very loving, giving, and outgoing. She loved animals and spending time with family. Some of Molly’s favorite pastimes were; watching football. While she loved the New Orleans Saints, she also enjoyed watching all the other teams, both college and professional; working on jigsaw puzzles, shopping, keeping diaries, and baking cookies especially chocolate chip for her brother, Kenny. Molly was known for avidly watching “Wheel of Fortune”, a show that she had to be home in time for each day!

Her family fondly remembers Molly as loving person with a wonderful sense of humor and a mischievous side. She also had a great memory, which her mother often made use of by always asking Molly to remind her of certain events or facts. Most importantly Molly adored children, this was proven by her great love and affection for her niece, Ellie, and nephew, Max.

Molly is survived by her mother, Paula Finkelstein Nelkin; her brother, Kenny Nelkin and his wife, Becky; a niece, Ellie Nelkin; a nephew, Max Nelkin; her step father, Burt Ross; her step mother, Phyllis Nelkin; a special friend, Charles Ratcliff and her beloved pets, Sheba and Donna Sue.

She was preceded in death by her father, Meyer D. Nelkin and her brother, Ronnie Nelkin.
