Peggie Allred Glenn was born in Manila, Arkansas on August 5, 1941, and was a resident of Morgan City for nearly 50 years . She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, September 1, 2012 at home in Morgan City, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Peggie worked alongside her husband Joe for more than 30 years as Secretary of Joe’s Boots & Work Clothes. Mrs. Peggie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Morgan City for over 40 years. Mrs. Peggie loved the Lord with all her heart, soul, and strength. She served as Children’s Director for many years. She taught Vacation Bible School and was a long time Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Peggie was a artist who enjoyed painting, wood craft, and creating works of art with cypress knees. Mrs. Peggie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be sadly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Mrs. Peggie leaves behind to cherish her memories, her husband of 52 years Mr. Joe Glenn, of Morgan City, her mother Katherine Allred, of Morgan City, her son Scott Glenn, his wife Angelia, of Morgan City, her daughter Cindy Welch and her husband John, of Houma, her brother Edward Allred, of Arkansas, and her six grandchildren Ashley Welch, Chassidy A. Glenn, Joseph A. Glenn, Alisha Flenner, Stephanie Flenner, and Rebekah Flenner.
Mrs. Peggie is preceded in death by her father E.B. Allred, her brother Morris Allred, and her grandson Michael Welch.
A time of remembrance and refection will be observed Monday September 3, 2012 at Hargrave Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday September 4, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Morgan City at 8:00 AM until services.
A going home celebration will begin a 10:00 AM at Frist Baptist Church. Mrs. Peggie will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
