Phil was born July 31, 1956 in Morgan City to the late Alvin H "Cap" Champagne and the late Betty Bernadou Champagne and was one of three children to this union.
Phil is survived by his sister, Janice Champagne Moore of Morgan City; and his brother, Alvin F. "Cap" Champagne of Bayou L'Ourse.
A private graveside service was held and Phil was laid to rest at the Berwick Cemetery.
