Sharon Ann Plaisance

Sharon was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, born to the late Forrest and Evelyn Bruney as their middle child. She dedicated 28 years of her life to the St. Mary Parish School Board and was a proud survivor of breast cancer, having triumphed over the disease twice. A passionate Disney enthusiast, Sharon was the go-to Disney expert in her family. She delighted in taking memorable trips to the happiest place on earth with loved ones, friends, and even coworkers, instilling a love for Disney in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In her spare time, Sharon nurtured her green thumb in her flower beds and showcased her talents as a seamstress. She was also a gifted painter, cook, and crafter, known for her artistic flair and creativity. Her family will always cherish her humorous stories and the unique sound effects she used to bring them to life. Sharon will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Loved ones left to cherish Sharon's beautiful memory are her three children, Duaine "Dee" Acosta and her husband, Jerry, Owen Plaisance and his companion, Charlene Blanco, and Paula Plaisance; her grandchildren, Jewal Breard and her husband, Lee, Brittany Foster and her husband, Hayden, Carley Mounier and her husband, Philip, Celena Berger, and Sky Acosta; great grandchildren, Melody, Quint, Ainsley, Jace, Jaxen, Beckham, Remy, and Naomi; her brother, Ronald Bruney and his wife, Carol and her sister, Roxana Sale and her husband, Jeff.

Alongside her parents, Sharon was also preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Plaisance; her father and mother-in-law, Louis and Billie Plaisance.

The family requests that a time of visitation and remembrance be observed on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM at Hargrave Funeral Home. A celebration of Sharon's life will begin on Tuesday, August 20th at 11:00 AM at Hargrave Funeral Home. The family would like to encourage loved ones to come prepared to share their best memories of Sharon for the celebration of life. Following services, Sharon will be laid to rest with her husband in the Berwick Cemetery.
