OBITUARY

Sostenes Ruiz III

Mr. Sostenes Ruiz III, surrounded by his family, died on January 24,2020.

Mr. Ruiz is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann; his children, Mark Ruiz ( Lauren ) of Portland, Oregon, Laura ( Randy Meadows) of Morgan City, David Ruiz (Kellie ) of Baton Rouge and Kathryn ( John Glynn ) of Baton Rouge. Quicho was loved by his grandchildren Kristin, Ian Ruiz( Jessica ), Christopher Meadows, Britni Ruiz, Alexander Ruiz, Michael Ruiz and two great grandchildren. His surviving siblings are Olga ( Virgil Stone ), Armi ( Bruce Cady) Leticia ( Jim Diaz ) and Dr. Roberto Ruiz (Cindy ).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Sostenes Ruiz Jr.and Armandina Ruiz, sister Patsy, brother Dr. Hector Ruiz and his uncle Dr. Mario Lopez.

Mr. Ruiz served his community as the city's prosecutor for 33 years. He was involved in several civic organizations and groups such as the Elks and the Krewe of Hephaestus.

His family would like to thank his caregivers Angel Vidos and Tempest Jackson for the exceptional care they gave dad and Journey Hospice for their compassion and gentle assistance as dad transitioned from this world to the next.

Visitation for Mr. Ruiz will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Hargrave Funeral Home.

I remember Sostenes Ruiz III from the four years I lived in Morgan City, 2009 to 2013, and always found him very pleasant to be with. Of course I also remember his daughter Laura Ruiz Meadows who worked with him in the same building. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
