Tanya Fay Businelle

Tanya was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend whose love and generosity touched everyone who knew her. A proud Cherokee woman, she carried deep pride in her Native American heritage throughout her life. She expressed her creativity in the kitchen, delighting family and friends with new recipes and memorable meals. Her famous potato salad and dump cake became treasured family favorites, and she was always happy to share both her recipes and her love of cooking with those around her. Tanya also found joy in crocheting, lovingly creating handmade gifts that her family will treasure for years to come. She had a special place in her heart for animals, showering them with endless affection and devoted care. When she was able, she loved spending time on the bayous, fishing with her husband and embracing the outdoors. Her playful spirit shone through on those adventures, where she even earned the title of being a better "frogger" than her husband...a distinction she wore with pride and good humor. Tanya will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, creativity, and the countless ways she made those she loved feel cared for.

Those left to cherish Tanya's beautiful memory is her husband of 21 years, Douglas "Dukie" Businelle Jr.; three daughter, Amie Coenen and her husband, Joel, Elizabeth Businelle, and Heather Businelle; Douglas "Dougie" Businelle III and his wife, Megan, and Dustin Businelle and his wife, Courtney and 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by two siblings, Terri Dowden and her husband, Will and Calvin Kimbrough, and her husband Dukie's siblings, Brian and his wife, Christie, and Christina Vaughn and her husband, Brian, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Kimborough and Lillian Jackson; her parent-in-laws, Douglas Businelle Sr. and Brenda Businelle, and a sister-in-law, Cheryl Businelle.

A time of visitation will be held for Tanya on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 10am until time of dismissal at Hargrave Funeral Home. Following visitation, a graveside service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 2pm in the Morgan City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be forwarded to Hargrave Funeral Home at 1031 Victor II Blvd Morgan City, to assist in the alleviation of medical and funeral expenses.
