Vivian was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister whose love and care touched every corner of her family's life. A proud mother of nine, she poured her heart into raising her children, tending to them with warmth and dedication. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, filled with the aroma of her excellent cooking—until her children learned to cook themselves, at which point she graciously passed the torch. Vivian's love only grew as her family expanded; she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and made it a point to be present for every game, recital, and special moment, often joining in on their adventures and trips. She had a deep love for travel—cherishing beach getaways, cruises, and especially the peace of the mountains, which held a special place in her heart. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she held church close to her heart. Vivian also found joy in the fun of casino visits and proudly cheered on her LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. In her younger years, she was known for her charm, wit, and beauty, voted both homecoming queen and “prettiest,” and she stayed active as a spirited basketball player. Vivian’s life was filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories—a legacy her family will carry forward with pride.
Those left to cherish Vivian's beautiful memory are her eight children, Katherine Goolsby Ryan and her husband, Jerry, Kenneth "Kenny" Wright Goolsby and his wife, Karen, Karla Goolsby LeBlanc, Kerry Lee Goolsby, Kimberly Goolsby Crappell and husband, Kim, Kevin Porter Goolsby, Kelly Joe Goolsby and his wife, Nancy, and Kenton "Kent" Earl Goolsby and his wife, Jill; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer, Heather, Corey, Courtney, Chad, Kim "Michael", Kolin, Gavin, Grayson, Mason, Madison and Leo; and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Jeanette Dunn, Oralee Vead, and JoAnn Mara; daughter-in-law, Donna Arcemont and beloved cats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Goolsby; her son, Keith Allen Goolsby; and her brother, Francis Bernard Brunett.
