Wilfred “Duck” Fremin, 90, a native of Plaquemine, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, and a current resident of the Patterson Health Care Center went to his heavenly home, Monday, September 17, 2012 at Teche Regional Medical Center.
Duck is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Shirley Sanchez Fremin; his son, Mark Fremin and his wife, Cindy, of Katy, TX; his daughter, Wendy McCoy and her husband, Bob of Santa Fe, TX; three grandchildren, Jared Fremin, Samantha Fremin, and Seth Fremin; and step grandchildren, Josh McCoy, Madison McCoy, and Mallori McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Fremin; his mother, Enola Callahan Fremin; his son, Keith Fremin; and six brothers.
Duck loved gardening; he was known for having a green thumb and a beautiful vegetable garden every year. An avid LSU football and baseball fan, the family fondly recalls him sitting behind home plate during their own sporting events. They also remember Duck grilling every year during Shrimp and Petroleum Festival for his family and friends. Duck was the backbone of his family, supporting them in every way possible. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday, September 19th from 6pm to 9pm at Hargrave Funeral Home. The funeral home will reopen for visitation Thursday, September 20th from 9am until time of services. Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, September 20th at 11am at Hargrave Funeral Home with graveside services following in the Morgan City Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the East St. Mary Veterans Funeral Squad.
