

Laurie Jean Sarnella, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on April 21, 1957, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was the cherished daughter of Tom and Jean Jack. She is preceded in death by her father, Tom.
Laurie is survived by her devoted husband of 38 years, Desmond Sarnella; her mother, Jean; her loving sons, Jason Cheatum (wife Sharon) and Jamie Addie; and her stepchildren, Daryn and Shawna Sarnella. She was a proud grandmother to Stone and Samual Cheatum, and Hayden Addie. She is also survived by her dear brother, Gordon Jack, and her sister-in-law, Kathi Jack.
Laurie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southern California University in Irvine, California. She was also a certified respiratory therapist. Alongside her husband Desmond, Laurie co-owned and operated an appraisal business for many years.
For nearly a decade, Laurie was a tenor drummer with the Colorado Isle of Mull and the City of Denver Pipe Bands. Her involvement in the pipe band community was a source of great pride and joy. Her Scottish heritage and her family in Scotland were a beloved and cherished part of her life, and she formed lasting friendships through this deep connection.
Laurie had a zest for life and a warm spirit. She loved antiquing, exploring new places through travel, and staying close with the many friends she held dear throughout the years. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Internment services will be held at Mt Lindo Cemetery in Morrison, Colorado on July 18, 2025 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Laurie’s memory.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and joy that will continue to inspire all those whose lives she touched.
