
Martin was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of many through his caring nature, loyalty, and intelligence. His thoughtful and meaningful conversations left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He had a gentle spirit, genuinely cared for others, and was deeply valued by his family and friends.
Martin graduated from Bear Creek High School and earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Denver and a graduate degree from Regis University in Business. He was highly intelligent and had a lifelong passion for learning.
One of Martin’s greatest interests was space and astronomy. He enjoyed collecting telescopes and meteorites and spent much of his time studying and learning about the universe. He was also a devoted fan of the Denver Broncos.
Professionally, Martin worked in the insurance industry, where he was respected and cherished by both his coworkers and clients. He genuinely cared about helping others and took pride in ensuring the people he worked with received quality service and guidance.
Martin was a Christian and proud of his German heritage, both of which helped shape the compassionate, principled, and caring person he was throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Guenther “Gary” Rhode; his mother, Helga (Heidenfelder) Rhode; his brother, Ulrich “Rick” Rhode; and his nephew, Gregory Rhode.
He is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his brother, Gerald “Gerry” Rhode, and Gerry’s wife, Nancy (Volpi) Rhode; his niece, Krista Rhode LaTulip, and her husband, Michael LaTulip; and their daughters, Abigail and Lainey LaTulip, along with many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Martin will be interred at Mt. Lindo on July 14, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. near his parents and family and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
