Virginia Ann “Ginny” Grimes, age 61 of Morrison, Colorado passed away Thursday June 19, 2025 while traveling in France. She was born May 13, 1964 in Oak Lawn, IL to Barbara and the late Gerald Convery. Ginny had a 6-year up-and-down relationship with endometrial cancer, and she fought it until her last breath.
Ginny had recently retired from teaching elementary school, where she influenced the lives of hundreds of children and families and loved every minute of it. When not teaching or grading or planning or creating curriculum, she spent her time quilting, traveling, scrapbooking, reading, playing games, hiking, camping, fishing, and loving on her kids, grandkids, relatives and many, many friends. Can’t keep a good woman down!
She is loved! And survived by her husband Ken Grimes; son, Chris Grimes and wife Brier; son, Casey Grimes and his wife Libby; son, Kegan Grimes and his wife Hannah; grandchildren Rion, Jocelyn, Rowyn, Hailey, Macy, Charlie, Ezra, Emma, and Hattie. Also her mom, Barbara Convery; sisters Bridget (& Breen) Schoonover and Patty (& Joe) Geisinger; brothers Brian Convery, Gerald Jr. (& Teena) Convery, Sean (& Jenny) Convery.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on July 31, 2025, first with a funeral Mass at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Parish in Littleton Colorado at 10:30 am followed by a Celebration Reception at Columbine High School in the South Commons area at about 12 noon.
