He lived all his life in Mount Morris. He enjoyed restoring his antique trucks alongside his adopted brother Denny Bennett.
He belonged to many community organizations and was an officer in all of them. He attended Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle most of his life, where he was a member.
He served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He worked as an accountant at Power Plant in Shinnston for several years until he went to United Mine Workers where he worked at Consol Nation Coal Mine Humphrey #7 until he retired.
He married Sharon Kiger on March 18, 1972. They had two sons Steve Bennett and Tim (Katie) Bennett, 4 grandchildren: Emily, Josiah, Hudson, and Ariana. One sister Sandy (Max) Kisner of Frostproof, Fl., Brother-in-law Paul Hughes, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his parents Elmer F. Bennett and Lucille Frankhouser Bennett and a sister Patricia Hughes.
Visitation will be from 1pm to 2 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 in the Mount Morris Gospel Tabernacle, 103 School Road, Mount Morris, PA 15349 with his service being held at 2pm with Pastor Joe Adams officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery Mount Morris, PA. Graveside Military rights to be accorded by the James T. Maxon American Legion Post #992.
