Al was born and raised in Muskegon and was a graduate of Muskegon Heights High School. He went to work as a draftsman at Weyburn Camshafts and then later worked for Sappi Paper Mill, where he then retired. He married his love, Lea Ann (Thaler) Grisham, in 1980 and the pair spent many wonderful years together. Al enjoyed traveling and listening to Elvis. Al had a passion for old cars and loved going to car shows. He especially loved driving around in his fully restored 1966 Cadillac convertible. Above all, Al loved his family and was a devoted husband and loving father. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Irene Grisham.
Al is survived by: wife, Lea Ann Grisham; children, Carrie (Marty) Vandermolen, Lynsey (Daniel) Robertson, Alecia (Mike Clark) Grisham, and Marci Grisham; 6 grandchildren: Cassie and Cammie Vandermolen, Lillian and Micah Clark, Emily and Susanna Robertson and 3 great-grandchildren: Sara Dusek, Dylan Rumple, and Dean Sargent; sister, Jayne Davis; as well as other extended family and close friends.
In accordance with Al's wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial service is being planned for the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
