Amelia Barbara Leonard

Millie was born on July 31, 1944, in Muskegon, Michigan, to her loving parents, Charles "Art" and Barbara (DeVille) Olsen. She attended Muskegon Catholic Central High School before embarking on a full and adventurous life defined by love, friendship, travel, and family.

Family was the center of Millie's world. She cherished every opportunity to gather with those she loved and never missed a chance to host or attend celebrations, whether for holidays, birthdays, or life's special milestones. Her home was always a welcoming place filled with laughter, love, and lasting memories.

Millie had a passion for travel and adventure, particularly scuba diving and cruising alongside her husband, family and friends which allowed her to explore destinations around the world. She and her husband, Raymond, also spent several years living in Caracas, Venezuela, where they worked for GTE. During their time abroad, they formed lifelong friendships and embraced the rich culture of their adopted home. They especially enjoyed welcoming their children, grandchildren, and extended family to Venezuela, sharing with them the unique experiences and beauty of the country they had come to love.

After retiring to Mission, Texas, Millie continued to live life to the fullest. She was an avid quilter who enjoyed attending sewing retreats, where she combined her creativity with treasured friendships. She also loved music and could often be found hosting or participating in karaoke nights around town, happily sharing her love of singing with others. Millie was deeply dedicated to the McAllen Elks Lodge #1402, where she was an active member and formed many meaningful friendships.

Millie's greatest legacy is the love she shared with her family and friends and the countless memories she created throughout her life. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, generous heart, vibrant personality, and the joy she brought to those fortunate enough to know her.

Millie is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Raymond Leonard; her children, Theresa (Christopher) Freye of Muskegon, Michigan, and Andy Leonard of Mission, Texas; her grandchildren, Angelica Freye of Mission, Texas, Maranda Robertson of Muskegon, Michigan, and Michael (Lisa) Freye of Muskegon, Michigan; her great-grandchildren, Hayden Freye, stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and Penelope Robertson of Muskegon, Michigan; her sister, Pamela Paquin of Grand Haven, Michigan; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Muskegon, Michigan.
