Anita was born on May 16, 1940, in Grand Rapids to William and Irene (Buer) Wengorovius.
A lifelong resident of West Michigan, Anita devoted an extraordinary 70 years of her life to her career as a dental technician. She took great pride in her work, earning the respect of her colleagues and the gratitude of countless patients through her exceptional skill, dedication, and caring nature.
Anita found her greatest happiness in the simple beauty of the outdoors and the adventures that life offered. She loved spending peaceful days fishing at the family cabin, carving cedar fanned birds wherever she could find a comfortable place to sit, and searching the shores of Lake Superior for treasured rocks. She embraced every season, whether gliding through the snow on cross-country skis, tending the garden that helped provide food for her family, or wandering through the woods in search of morel mushrooms, always convinced she knew the best-kept secret spots. One of her favorite adventures was her trip to Alaska with her son Jeff and daughter in law Sandi, where she tried her hand at gold mining—an experience she delighted in reminiscing about for years afterward.
Of all the joys in her life, nothing compared to the happiness she felt listening to her children play music and sing. On the rare occasions when all three could perform together, her heart was full. She would watch with unmistakable pride, knowing those moments were among her life's greatest blessings.
Above all else, Anita was the foundation of her family. She was a devoted provider whose love was expressed through hard work, quiet sacrifice, and unwavering generosity. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her world. Through her strength, kindness, and endless devotion, she built a legacy of love that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Though she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, the values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of her family forever. It is truly a blessing knowing that Anita is now in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter-in-law Tamara “Tami” King.
She is survived by her 3 children Jeff (Sandra) King, Jody (Steve) McNeil, and James King; grandchildren Mike (Joy) Smith, Jessica (Cole) McClain, Kris Gailfoil, Kari (Kevin) Graham, Zachary Gailfoil, Jeffrey King, Sagia (Cassidy) Connolly, and Maggie (Nathan) Donselar, and; 16 great grandchildren; brother William Wayne (Pam) Wengorovius; many extended family and friends.
A private celebration of life will take place at a later date.
