April Arlene Yack

April Arlene Yack was born April 26, 1945, in Muskegon, Michigan and mercifully went home January 3, 2026. She was the mother of three, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of thirteen. She had worked for many years in retail, restaurants and most recently at Goodwill Industries. As a navy wife, she moved constantly with her husband around the United States eventually settling back in Muskegon, Michigan upon his retirement.

Her other occupations included: armchair Jeopardy pro., anonymous neighborhood watch (so she's definitely watching us), unrehabilitated Bingo enthusiast and part-time observer of the chipmunks and squirrels stealing food from her bird feeder.

She loved ice cream, word games, hymns, and bagpipe music.

She has been a member and deacon at Lakeside Assembly of God and was most recently a faithful member of City Heart Ministries in Muskegon Heights.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Paul Yack; her son, Stephen Yack; great-grandchildren, Maryana Elyzabeth Morales-Yack, and Mercedes Socorro Morales-Yack; brother, Garry McGee; and sister, Corliss (McGee) Wilson.

She is survived by: daughters, Sui (Doug) Malear and Barb (Tom) Huber; and daughter-in-law, Mary (Miguel) Vazquez.

Also survived by her grandchildren, Heather (Curt) Carlson, Sean (Holly) St.Amour, Stephen (José) Saavedra, Marysa (Omar Morales) Yack, and Miguelito Vazquez. Surviving great-grandchildren include: Addy Carlson, Olivia Carlson, Connor St.Amour, Sebastian St.Amour, Eli St.Amour, José Saavedra, Jesus Saavedra, Sophia Saavedra, Jorge Yack, Maria Catalina Burgos-Yack, and Omar Morales.

Also survived by: sister-in-law, Val (Tom) Kauffman; and niece, Carrie (James) Veen and their family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:00 am at City Heart Ministries, 2640 Peck Street, Muskegon Heights, MI 49444.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to City Heart Ministries in her honor.
