Arthur Ross Burke Sr.

Arthur Ross Burke, Sr., age 91 of Muskegon, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015. He was born on March 2, 1924 in Grand Rapids. He was raised by his grandparents, Ross and Alice Burke. Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Bastian Blessing Co. in Grand Haven, where he worked as a sheet metal journeyman for 30+ years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Burke; and his son, Gary Burke. Arthur is survived by his children, Arthur (Judith) Burke, Jr. of Fruitport, Linda (Peter) Burke-Meilinger of Fruitport, and Theresa (Lewis) Leonard of Okemos; his daughter-in-law, Linda Carol of Naples, FL; four grandchildren, Ronda (Mark) Nielsen, Arthur Ross III (Michelle) Burke, Richard (Lisa) Burke and Halie Leonard; six great grandchildren, Michael, Desa (Robert), Arthur IV, Taylor, Kyle, and Alden; great-great grandchild, Mahayla; and his beloved pet cat “Punkin”. A private family gathering will be held. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and American Heart Association.
