Bernice L. Sluyter was born in Muskegon on November 1, 1947 to the late Harold and June Voss and passed away on February 14, 2013. She is survived by her children, Lisa (Raymond) Church, Tom (Barb) Slater, Scott Slater, and Jessica (Christopher) Kelly; 10 grandchildren, Shanna (Jack) Zimmer, Shawn O’Neil, Nathan (Amanda) Dyer, Tommy Buffum, Isaac Slater, Sydney Slater, Jackson Slater, Scott Slater Jr., Alic Barber, Zoie Tozer; 3 great-grandchildren, Benjamin Zimmer, Brayden Buffum, Brylie Buffum; four siblings, Richard (Monika) Voss, Ronald (Deb) Voss, Dan (Bonnie) Voss, Sue (Frank) Spyke; several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Patricia Roltch. According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel on Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Sanctuary at McAuley.
