

Beverly J. Garter, age 87 passed away on April 29, 2012 at Sanctuary at McAuley. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Taylor Garter in 1991. She is survived by four children, Alan (Patti) Garter, Marge (Dave) Scoon, Mary Stoken, and Hazel (John) Raddatz; seven grandchildren, Brix (Laurie) McFee, Augie (Lynda) Swanson, Mark Stoken, Ken (robin) Stoken, Jeri (Brian) Wooten, Derek (Rachel) Raddatz, Jessica (Dan Stout II) Raddatz; eleven great-grandchildren; Sara McFee, T.J. (Nichole) McFee, Stephanie (Jon) Coeling, Jodi (Chris) Steimel, Joseph (Alison) Stoken, Kenneth Stoken, Alicia Stoken, Danyel (Carl Long) Wooten, Ryan Wooten, Lauren Raddatz and Nathan Raddatz; eleven great-great-grandchildren, Ashleigh, Avery, Alexis, Kaitlyn, Karter, Sophia, Jackson, Clark, Robbie, Evan and Drew; sisters-in-law, Elaine Harkness, Jackie Garter, and Ruth Garter; brother-in-law, Harold (Marilyn) Garter. Beverly also leaves behind several nieces and nephews that meant so much to her. A few of them even referred to her as Aunt Bobbie which brought a smile to her face. Along with her husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Harkness and sister, Virginia Welch. Beverly was devoted to her family, loved the Tigers, and vacations at Big Bass Lake, and was known to make the best fudge around. She worked as a dietary aide at old Sylvan Dell Nursing Home. According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mercy VNS and Hospice or the American Heart Association.
