She was born in Durand, Michigan on Feb. 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Charles & Dorothy (Perry) Nunnemaker. She moved at a young age to North Muskegon, Michigan where she was raised by her mother and loving stepdad, Russell Critchett (who adopted her and changed her last name to Critchett.) After graduating from North Muskegon High School in 1952, she pursued a career in the medical field as a Medical Secretary. She worked at the General & Hackley Hospital for many years. She also worked for Dr. Beechnau in Ravenna. She loved her work and the people in the medical field. She was known for her delectable pies and cakes. She was an avid reader & cross word fanatic. Later in life, she became artistic and started making cut & pierced lamp shades. She had her shop in Grand Haven, called Shade Artistry, where she produced her beautiful work. Bev married her childhood boyfriend, David (Scotty) McKnight in 1953. He predeceased her in 1978. They had two daughters: Lisa (Shawn) Doughtery and Laurie McKnight, both live in Carrollton, Virginia. Surviving her is her husband, Henry (Pete) Wilder, who married her in 1983. Four step daughters: Marian (Robert) Bruce of Killeen, Texas, Heidi Wilder of Tennessee, Christine Wilder of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Karen Ann Carleton (Steven) of Royal Oak, Michigan. Also surviving are her brother, Richard (June) Critchett of Ravenna, Michigan, and sisters, Pam (Willie) Bohach of N.Muskegon, Michigan, and Margie Critchett of Muskegon, her grandson, Patrick (Christina) Doughtery and Kelsey (Michael) Livengood, all of Virginia. Also preceding her in death are her brothers, Bill and Greg (Bud) Critchett. She has 9 Granddaughters and 1 Great Granddaughter. She loved her huge family and was loved in return. A fond fairwell to special friends, Lee and Penny Holstege, Sheryl Woodring, Anita Rundquist, and cardshark companion, Chari (Rob) VanSuilichem.
A celebration of life will be scheduled for family and friends sometime in the summer when the virus scare is over.
