Brenda Mae Bolles

In her early years, Brenda grew up in Obion County, Tennessee and eventually moved with her family to Muskegon County, Michigan. This is where Brenda met long time friend and former spouse, James Corpe. After a brief time spent living back in Tennessee, the two returned to Michigan where they raised their two sons and daughter. Jim and Brenda separated and remained friends. Brenda worked in manufacturing where she met and married the love of her life, Ellis Eugene Bolles. Brenda enjoyed crafting, singing, traveling with friends, and eventually grandchildren. Between the two blended families, Brenda and Ellis created a wonderful family consisting of 6 children, 20 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 33 years Ellis Bolles, son Chris (Francine) Corpe, daughter Cindy (Mark) Corpe, step-sons Doug (Tanya) Bolles and Daniel (Kim) Bolles, and stepdaughter Jodi (Dennis) Metcalf; 20 grandchildren, Chynnah, Brandon, CJ, Tyler, Nicole, Amanda, Cameron, Hayley, Kori, Coady, Cregg, Kaitie, Maddie, Tucker, Blake, Hannah, Delaney, Alexis; and two brothers Richard (Betty) Dutton, and Clarence (Debbie) Dutton.

Brenda is preceded in death by her mother and father, Rufus and Lorine Dutton; brothers Wilson Dutton Sr., Randall Dutton, Jack Dutton; sisters Violet Dutton, Rita Dutton, Mary Dutton, Rhonda (Dutton) Cloar; daughter Jeanette Corpe, and son Craig (Sue) Corpe.

There will be a celebration of life taking place on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 12pm-4pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home, 1783 E. Keating Ave, Muskegon MI 49442.
