Carol was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central. She went on to earn a degree in nursing and worked as an LPN until her retirement in 2005. Carol was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1992, but she did not let this dull her spirit or zest for life. She enjoyed traveling-especially to Pennsylvania to visit family, going to rodeos to watch bull riding, and going to the races at the dirt track. She was a big sports fan and loved the Detroit Tigers and any professional team from Pennsylvania. She also loved bird watching and collecting dolls. She was also a huge animal lover. Carol's kind spirit and loving nature will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Carol was preceded in death by: parents, George and Eleanor Check; and brothers, George Michael Check and Robert John Check.
Carol is survived by: siblings, Richard (Vicki) Check, and Debra (Rick) Check-Versalle; nephew and 'surrogate son', Ricky Check and his children, Hayden, Riley, and Georgia; nieces and nephews: David (Emily) Check, Kara (Andrew) Elenbaas, Kyle Versalle, Carey (Mike) Sonnenberg, Nicole (Jason) Curtis, Megan (Nicholas) Ackerson, and Michael Check.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Noah Project of Muskegon.
