Charles Lloyd Greeno, age 89, went to be with his Lord, on April 13, 2011. Charles was born in Millerton, Michigan to the late, Harry and Sarah Ella Greeno, on June 20, 1921. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Georgia (Sicard) Greeno; and a daughter, Gail Silvis. He is survived by two children, Bill (Mary) Greeno; and Tom (Marilyn) Greeno, of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren, Deb (Joe) Hetcel, Dawn (Danny) Kauffman and David (Penny) Greeno, of Texas; eight great-grandchildren, Colby and Jake Hetcel, Chase, Taylor and Hannah Kauffman; and Lily, Abby and Carter Greeno, of Texas; son in law, Ed (Margaret) Silvis. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II, and was the recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired from the Muskegon Chronicle and was a longtime member of the First Free Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2011 the Reverend Carlos Ramos officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the First Free Methodist Church.
