

Charlotte Elaine Yonker, age 93, Wife, Mother, Grandmother -left us to be with her Lord, and her husband of 75 years, who went home to glory on 1-25-2026. Just stepped into Glory, 3am, Saturday, May 9, 2026, peacefully sitting in her chair. Born in Muskegon, Michigan, August 6,1932, to Nick and Marjorie (VandenBosch) Bolema. She is survived by 4-daughters: Sherry (Greg) Cole, Debbie (Tom) VanBronhorst, Sandy (Jim), Zwiers, Cathy (Tim) Pomp! Mom was always getting all the families together for celebrations, picnics, beach days, Sand dune days, etc.
Stan and Char had 5 children, and one of the greatest number of grandchildren anyone has known. They would be married for 75 years, with a friendship for 79 years. After several years in the plumbing business, at age 37, Stan answered the call to the ministry and went to Hope College/Western Seminary and graduated from both schools and became an ordained minister. Charlotte followed along with TREMENDOUS SUPPORT filled the role of Pastor’s wife with great grace! His ministry journey took them to Kentucky, Canada, South Florida, Wyoming. They had incredible time and family memories in Silver Lake, MI as he was doing school. Oh, they loved SILVER LAKE, and the dunes, spending time at the cottage!
Char and Stan were members of All Shores Wesleyan Church. She also loved hosting many Bible studies in her home and countless holiday, and birthday bashes with her beloved family and friends. Charlotte would want everyone to know that Jesus loves them and would want a personal relationship with them. Christ was the center of every part of her home and life.
They loved visiting offspring scattered throughout the United States. How many people can boast that they have 109 grandchildren. They loved, imparting, laughing, playing, and sharing God’s love with family and friends. Char was known as one with an “agenda”, a plan, Christ centered, a reconciler, an incredible host, and LOVER OF HER FAMILY. A MATRIARCH FOR SURE TO ALL HER TRIBE. She is now reaping His reward in the presence of God.
Char also has a huge Tribe following of 109 Grandchildren! 39 grandchildren - 63 Great Grandchildren - 7 Great Great Grandchildren. As well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her Parents-Nick and Marjorie Bolema, Husband- Stan Yonker, Son -Steven Yonker, Daughter-in-law - Lorri (Zwiers) Yonker. Grandson-Jeffrey Jon Cole and all her siblings: Charles (Donna) Bolema, Don (Marilyn) Bolema, Bernard (Karen) Bolema, Ken (Heather)Bolema.
Visitation and funeral will be at Ever Rest Funeral Home, 1783 E. Keating Ave. Muskegon, MI 49442, on May 22, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, and go until the start of the service at 11:00am. Following the funeral, a graveside service will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 2188 Remembrance Drive, Muskegon, MI 49442, at 12:15pm. A lunch will be served at the funeral home following the burial.
