Mrs. Winters worked for Stokely Van Camp for several years before stopping work to stay at home while her kids were still in school. After her children were raised she worked for Progressions Work Center until her retirement.
On February 6, 1954 Colleen married Lester Winters from Illinois. The Winters family relocated to Illinois. After a few years they returned to Muskegon where they remained until their children were grown.
Once she retired, she and Lester moved back to Illinois where they remained until the passing of Lester. She then moved back to Muskegon where she remained.
She is survived by: children, Harry (Norma) Winters, Cheryl (Bernard) Ketchum, and Dawn (Greg) Lien; grandchildren, Jeremy Winters, Matt Winters, John Dove, Christopher Dove, and Jennifer (Lien) Annis; Fourteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; brother, Carl Stone, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Winters; granddaughter, Desiree Winters; great great grandson, Jayme Annis; and 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home of Muskegon. A Funeral Service, officiated by Glenn Aittama will begin at 3:00pm, also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Harbor Hospice.
