Connie married the love of her life, LaVerne Junior Speers, on October 13, 1962. She devoted her life to her family and took great pride in being a homemaker. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with the people she loved.
Connie is survived by her son, LaVerne Junior Speers Jr. (Angela); daughter, Tina Louise Decker (Scott); sisters, Debra Davis and Norma McMillan; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathyrn; father, William; stepfather, George Parnell; husband, LaVerne Junior Speers; sister, Betty Haynes; brothers, James Jansen and Jerry Jansen; and son, James Lee Speers.
Connie loved her family dearly. She enjoyed playing cards, working on puzzles, taking long rides, and, most of all, being a homemaker and caring for those around her. Her love, kindness, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services
Funeral services will be held at Everest Funeral Home in Muskegon, Michigan, on Friday, September 11, 2026.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Service: 6:00 p.m.
A light luncheon will follow the service.
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, family and loved ones will gather for final goodbyes at 9:00 a.m., followed by procession to Egelston Cemetery, where Connie will be laid to rest at 10:00 a.m.
Connie’s memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Rest peacefully, Connie. Until we meet again.
