Dan Allen Grow, age 76, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born on July 27, 1949, in Shelby, Michigan, to Dwaine LeRoy and Betty Ann (Bates) Grow.
Dan grew up in Montague, Michigan, where he attended Montague Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1967. Shortly after graduation, he proudly joined the United States Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam.
After his service, Dan explored various jobs until he discovered his true calling as a truck driver. He began driving smaller trucks and eventually received his CDL, enabling him to travel the country while pursuing his passion. He took immense pride in his work and cherished every mile on the open road leading up to his retirement.
In 1992, Dan married the love of his life, Joyce, and together they crafted a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. Known for his sharp wit, “sassy” personality, and unforgettable big blue eyes, Dan had a heart of gold and a profound love for his family.
Dan found genuine joy in riding his motorcycle, exploring gun and knife shows, and losing himself in a captivating book on peaceful days. As a devoted family man, he brought laughter and warmth to those around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His gift for inspiring and uplifting others fostered a lasting joy that remained long after he left.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Joyce Grow; children Harvey (Jodi) Riley, Scott (Amanda) Riley, and Jessie (Joe) Follett, Michelle (John) Halldorson; grandchildren Chris, Brianna, Blake, Raven, and Collin; and great-grandchildren Emery, Colson, Nolan, and Brynleigh.
