Daniel was born on May 17, 1945, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Henry and Mary Violet (Hendrix) Deephouse.
Throughout his life, Daniel was known as a hardworking and dedicated man. He worked several trade jobs over the years, including employment at a paper mill before beginning a long career with General Motors. He retired on January 1, 2019, after many years of faithful service. In 2020, Daniel married the love of his life, Connie (Perysian) Deephouse, and together they shared many happy memories.
Daniel was a true family man with a heart of gold. He was always the first to lend a helping hand and made sure everyone around him was cared for. Known for his wonderful sense of humor and playful personality, Daniel could always brighten a room with a joke or a smile. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. His fur babies, Koda and Shelbie Lynn, were everything to him—he was their grandpa, and his love for them knew no bounds! He affectionately called them his partners, and they were his constant companions, following him everywhere. Whether he was working in the yard or hanging out at home, these sweet pups were right by his side. And no outing was complete without them! They always got to enjoy their favorite cookies from the cookie jar. An avid outdoorsman, Daniel enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time in nature. He especially cherished outdoor adventures shared with family and friends. He also enjoyed watching western movies, carving knives, following NASCAR racing, and spending Sundays watching football. Daniel was always busy with a project or helping someone in need. He loved hosting gatherings and took great pride in making sure everyone felt welcome and well cared for. He cherished every moment spent watching his grandsons play soccer, finding joy and inspiration in their passion. His kindness, generosity, and joyful spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Daniel is lovingly survived by his wife, Connie Deephouse; his children, Daniel Deephouse Jr., Donna (Jeff) Camp, Jason (Stefanie) Deephouse, and Chris (Ashley) Deephouse; his grandchildren, Rachel Deephouse, Donald (Olivia) Camp, Bradley Deephouse, Ethan Deephouse, and Conner Deephouse; his great-grandson, Tyson McDonough, and one the way; as well as many extended nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Deephouse; his brothers, Tom, Ike, and Bob Deephouse; his sister, Nancy Johnson; his son, Jeffrey Deephouse; and his daughter-in-law, Jill Deephouse.
A Celebration of Life for Daniel will be held at a later date.
