Dave was a veteran of the navy. After his service, he would go on to live in Wisconsin, Colorado, and California, finally settling in West Michigan. Following the navy, Dave went into construction work, a field he would work in for the rest of his life. Dave was never one to sit still, and was always working on something, be it on a car, on his yard, or just tinkering in the garage.
Dave was preceded in death by his wife Beth, by his parents Dean and Carol Hansen, and by his sister Jennifer Marinko.
Dave is survived by his son Jason (Angela) Hansen, and grandchildren, Coi, Ty, and Alina;
His daughter Nicole (Brian Secrest) Hansen, and grandchildren Alexis, Daejah, and Alivia;
