Donald E. Slack – age 74, of Egelston Township, passed away on May 23, 2013. Donald retired from Grand Trunk Railroad, where he worked for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and upholstering vehicles. Donald loved the Red Wings, Detroit Tigers and going to Oakridge High School football games. Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife of 38 years, Merry Slack. He leaves to cherish in his memory his children: Connie (Jim) Weaver, Lori (Dave) Munger, Chance Slack; step-daughter, Tamora (Harry) Knapp; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donald was also preceded in death by both parents, Patrick and Edith Slack; sister, Patsy McDaniels; uncle, Harold Wagner, Sr.; and his best friend, Jerry Marks. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Muskegon Rescue Mission. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1 at Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon. The family will receive visitors an hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m.
