Dorothy Arlene Pfhistner

Dorothy was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin September 5, 1927 to John and Margaruite (Marquardt) Rau. She met her future husband Herman when he returned from the service. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage together until Herman’s passing in 2010. Dorothy worked for GTE and as a secretary for Our Redeemer Church part time for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Herman in 2010; daughter Cathey; and granddaughter Heather.

She is survived by her son Jeff (Maren) Pfhistner; grandchildren, Jon (Melissa) Overheul, R. Ben Overheul, Nicole Johnson, Joshua (Morgan) Pfhistner, and Kaitlyn (fiancé Cameron) Pfhistner; great grandchildren Evan and Zachary; sister-in-law Judith Rau; many extended family and friends.

A service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be at 11:00am Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3225 Roosevelt Rd., Muskegon, with visitation from 10:00am until the time of the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions in Dorothy’s honor can me made to Trinity Lutheran’s Imagine Campaign Fund.
