Elaine Achterhof

Elaine H. Achterhof, (Formerly of North Muskegon} went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 14, 2016 in Davenport, Florida. Elaine was born September 25, 1934 in Modesto, CA to Cornelius and Carrie denDulk. She married William (Bill) Achterhof August 20, 1955 in Muskegon MI where they lived until 2007. Elaine spent her life teaching children, in schools, church, and as a tutor. She also volunteered for many years at Bridge to Life Ministries. Elaine had a strong and abiding faith in God and was a fierce prayer warrior for her family and friends. Elaine also knew how to make people feel loved by always remembering their special days like birthdays and anniversaries. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, and her brother Donald denDulk. Elaine is survived by her children, Myra (Roger) Phillips, Skwentna, AK and Vance W. Achterhof, Medina, OH and sister Joyce (Gary) VantHul of McKenzie Bridge,OR. She is also survived by her grandchildren: R. Michael Phillips, Bradner Oh, Mandy (Rick) Lowery, Bloomdale OH, Nicholas Achterhof, US Army, and Julia Achterhof, Medina OH and great grandchildren, Michael, Janice, Kyrie, Keith, Joseph and Landon. A Memorial Service will be held October 15, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Christian Reformed Church 660 South State St. Sparta, Michigan.
