Elizabeth Jean, “Betsy” (Warner) Stingle, age 61, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 18, 2019, after an 8 month battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at her home in Twin Lake, surrounded by family and friends who love her very much.
Betsy was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 26, 1958. She truly loved being a mother, daughter, and friend. She spent much of her adult life raising her 4 children; taking them to and from academic & athletic events, supporting their passions, and simply cheering them on. For the last 10 years she devoted herself to being an amazing caregiver to her mother, who lived with alzheimer’s/dementia.
Betsy was a very special woman who enjoyed the unique and simple things in life. She will always be remembered for the passion she had for planting flowers and cooking; they brought her great joy, and she was so very good at both. She would always be happy to cook for any occasion, as long as she could enjoy the smiles it brought to people’s faces. Betsy also liked decorating for each holiday, finding/making unique pieces for decorating, going out in the mud truck, and spending time with her dogs, Moose and Indy.
Betsy is survived by her partner of 19 years, Wayne Scharphorn; her two sisters Jane (Jeff) Malec and Julie (Mike) Devos; her four children; Tony (Charissa) Pucilowski, Trista Stingle, Shane Stingle, and Darik (Trisha) Stingle; and her six grandchildren; Aiden, Aubree, Bennett, Bryson, Kannen, and Kendall. She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Warner (2005) and her mother, Agatha (Passeno) Wardwell (2019).
Family, friends, and friends of family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering at Lakewood Civic Builders, 6667 Kedzie Rd, Twin Lake, Mi. on June 23rd from 2:00-6:00pm.
