Emily M. Hammond, age 95 passed away on June 2, 2011. Emily was preceded in death by three husbands including, her husband of 44 years, Joe Hepler, the love of her life along with a daughter, Karen Yeager. Emily is survived by two children, JoAnn Settlemyre and Jeffrey (Moira) Hepler; seven grandchildren, Joyce Schneider, Jenene Harder, Timothy Cregg, Emmanuel Cregg, Jeremy Hepler, Nicole Vorse and Joseph Hepler; nine great-grandchildren. She served on the Holton Public School Board and was a 60 year member of the Cedar Creek Evangelical Covenant Church until their closing in January of this year. She will be dearly missed by her family and those that knew her. According to her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. Emily will be laid to rest next to her first husband, Joe in Oakwood Cemetery. Condolences can be sent to the family in care of Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel or left on the website.
