Eugene H. "Gene" Gardner, age 69, passed away at home under the loving care of his family on February 24, 2011. Gene is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol; two daughters, Gidgett (Douglas) Davis; Paula (Bret) Davis; seven grandchildren, Holly Sokolowski and special friend, Jeff Erickson, Julie and Emily Davis, Matthew Sokolowski, Makenzie, Nathan and Nickolas Davis; great-grandson Braydan Erickson; a brother Emil (Sue) Gardner; two sisters Christina (Richard) Baatz and Alice Barrett; several nieces and nephews; very special friends, Dan Walsworth, Frankie Stearns of Alaska and Bryan Maynard. Gene was preceded in death by his son Eugene Gardner Jr.; his parents; two brothers in law, Paul Duell and Robert Barrett. Gene was the owner/operator of Gardner’s Garbage Service. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Reverend Norm Swier officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family for, Gene’s medical expenses.
