Eugene Robert Wheeler, a beloved father, brother, and restaurateur, passed away on July 8, 2024, at the age of 72. Born in Muskegon, MI, on December 15, 1951, Eugene was the son of Eugene and Rose Marie Wheeler.
Eugene proudly served his country in the United States military, enlisting on January 1, 1971, and was honorably discharged on September 19, 1973. His dedication to service and community carried through into his career as a restaurateur and sales professional.
He is survived by his two sons, Justin and Kevin Wheeler, his grandchildren Christian and Lincoln Rose Wheeler and his devoted sisters, Shirley Karafa and Evelyn Herbert. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sisters Patty and Jeanne Hekkema.
A memorial service to honor Eugene's life will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 1061, located at Witham Dr., Muskegon, MI 49445. Friends and family are invited to join in remembering his life.
Eugene will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
