Frances “Dolly” VandenBosch, 86, passed away peacefully January 5th, at SKLD Nursing Home (along with the assistance of Harbor Hospice) in Muskegon. Dolly was born on July 12, 1932 in Rothbury, Michigan and moved th Egelston Township in her early 20’s where she spent the next 60 years of her life with a houseful of kids (and neighborhood kids) primarily as a home maker. As the kids grew, she enjoyed working at Rykes Bakery and then later retired from Meijer, Inc. Dolly’s interests included sewing, crocheting, cooking, playing cards and dominoes with friends, and she got her greatest enjoyment out of country music jam sessions and casino trips.
Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, Amy Frances Cooper and Henry Grover Coon, brothers; Vern Coon, William Coon, granddaughter; Sherry Coon and two special friends Barry Mead and Max Vanas.
Dolly is survived by her children; Bob (Kathy) Coon, Don (Jennifer) Coon, Tom (Debbie) Claypool, Nancy (Mark) Sundberg, Randy (Tina) Claypool, Larry (Kim) VandenBosch, Darlene (Shawn) Storm, Dennis (Rose) VandenBosch, Stepdaughter; Barbara Wilson, Grandchildren; Valerie, Lisa, Ryan, Tom Jr, Amanda, Heather, Nicole, Shane, Adam, Autumn, Summer, Cheyenne and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Ever Rest Funeral Home, 1783 East Keating, Muskegon on Saturday, January 12, visitation 9:30am-11:30am, funeral begins at 11:30, followed by a luncheon at the VFW Post 7729, 6285 E Apple Ave.
