Gary Wayne Follett

Gary Wayne Follett, age 76, of Norton Shores, Michigan passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023. He was born July 7, 1947 to Lester and Ethel (Smith) Follett. Gary grew up in Bailey, Michigan and attended Grand Haven School. From there he went to serve in the United States Army.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Gary was enthusiastic about pole vaulting. He held a record for over 50 years at Grand Haven High School, until 2010. He was a very kind, loving man, the best Grandpa in the whole world. Gary will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Gary is preceded in death by: both parents, Lester and Ethel Follett, 6 brothers, 1 sister, and a life-long best friend; Nick Chorney.

He is survived by: his wife, Marcia Follett, children: Robby (Rachelle) Follett, Kimberley (Mike) Barber, Susan (Rob) O’Meara; Grandchildren, Kaylyn (Joshua) New, Kylee Follett, Devin (Meya) Doss, Destany (Branon) Paggeot, Zander Barber, Lexus Barber, Connar Bruesch, Justyn Anderson, Braydn Campbell, Logan Campbell; Great-grand babies, Annabelle, Juliette, Mason, Dezzlyn, Lucca, and Jett; Brother, Ricky Follett and Jodie Follett; Life long friend Richard Dorn.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at the VFW Post 3195, 5209 Grand Haven Rd. Norton Shores, MI, 49441, Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 3:00pm.
