Harvey Snyder, age 89, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Harvey was born in Grand Haven on March 26, 1924. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Harvey’s hobbies included fishing, camping, practical jokes, and volunteering at the Special Olympics. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a true family man. Harvey will be lovingly remembered by his children: Prudence “Peaches” Keech, Henrietta “Penny” Hichue, Harley Snyder, Sally Snyder; brother, Herman Snyder; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Prudence “Trudy” Snyder; both parents; son, Harvey Lewis; four brothers; four sisters; great granddaughter, Arlena; two son-in-laws; one daughter-in-law. A funeral service will take place at 1:00pm on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Grand Haven Church of God (14908 Mercury Dr.) Pastor Ron Finger officiating. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 6-8pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon) and one hour prior to the service on Monday, beginning at noon. Memorial contributions may be made to Area 21 Special Olympics.
