Ira Noordhoff

Ira Noordhoff, age 92 passed away at Seminole Shores on Friday, December 10, 2010. He was born in Muskegon on March 21, 1918 to the late Henry and Eva Noordhoff. He attended Muskegon Public Schools. On December 21, 1941 he was married to Marcella Vallee and she preceded him in death in April of 2006. Ira was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He worked as a licensed union plumber. Later he went into business as a licensed master plumber with Leo Jesse. The company’s name was Jesse & Noordhoff Plumbing. Ira retired as a Union Contractor in 1980. He was a member of First Reformed Church. Along with his wife, Ira was preceded in death by a brother Dick in 1997 and a sister, Frederika Walsworth in 2000. Surviving are his four sons, Bill, Larry (Karen), Tom (Beth McClenaghan) and Bob (Judy); 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel. visitation will be held on hour before the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
