

Iva May Simot, age 85, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013. Iva was born in Cedar Springs, MI on April 27, 1928 to parents Gerald and Mertyl Spencer. She owned Simots Drive-In in Spring Lake/Fruitport for some time and later retired as manager from Elias Brothers Big Boy on Apple Ave. Her and her husband Edward enjoyed going to the Country Jam at Cowboy Jim’s on Broadway and listening to music. Iva will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Edward Simot; children: Carol (Les) Sutton, Paula “Alex” Simot, Bill Simot, Scott (Pam) Simot; grandchildren: Les (Jamie) Sutton, Jeanette (Ron) Morin, Kira Simot, Cameron Simot, Aaron Simot, Michael Simot; 7 great grandchildren; siblings: Ila “Dee”, Ken, Kathy, Cherri, Jim, Richard; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents; siblings: Charles, Ida, Gerald and Clara. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon). The family will receive visitors on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm and on Tuesday beginning at 11:00am until the time of service at 1:00pm. Luncheon immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice – Poppen Residence.
