James “Jim” Richard Becklin, 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. Jim was one of 13 children of Alfred and Florence (Andregg) Becklin. He lived his whole life in the Fruitport area. He worked as a Longshoreman at West MI Dock. In his younger years, he bowled on a bowling league, and loved to be outdoors fishing and hunting. He spent his retirement traveling throughout Michigan to visit estate sales and various casinos. Jim was a strong foundation for his family, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by: his wife of 70 years, Sophie; his 6 children, Deb (Chuck) Stone, Diane Lara, Doug Becklin, Mike Becklin, Ken Becklin, and Connie (Dave) Farrell; 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sister, Ann; and brothers, Bob, Don, and Lloyd.
He was preceded in death by: sisters, Maylene, Virginia (Verge), LaDonna, and Betty; as well as, brothers, Gene, Chuck, Ralph, and Armand.
In accordance with Jim’s wishes, cremation will take place, and no services are scheduled at this time.
