James Riley Lathrop

Jimmy attended Ravenna and Grant Public Schools. He went on to work for over a decade in lawn care. He loved the great outdoors and going fishing in his free time. He had a deep appreciation for music and would even write his own raps. His greatest love was for his family and friends. He loved spending time with those he held close - whether it was just chilling at home or a big get-together, he was happy as long as he was with his family. Jimmy was a loving, caring, and fun-loving jokester who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by: his father, Russell Ketchum; and cousins, Trevor O'Brien, and Ryan Lathrop.

Jimmy is survived by: children, Marissa Lathrop, James Lathrop, and Serenity Ely; mother, Dawn Hoffman; siblings, Johnny Hoffman, Tara Hoffman, Miranda (Codey) Quinton, Rachael Ketchum, Colten Hoffman, Brooke Hoffman, Kevin Yack, Amber Luckett, and Olivia Luckett; several aunts and uncles; many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Burial will be held at Ravenna Township Cemetery on Main Street in Ravenna, MI 49451, on September 4, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
