James D. Smith

James D. Smith, age 61, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. James was born on October 31, 1952 in Muskegon to parents Jack and Leora (Updyke) Smith. When he was younger, James liked to party on E. Broadway with everyone he grew up with. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. As he started to settle down in life, James liked to spend time with his grandchildren and daughter, Jamie, as well as visit his sister. James will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jamie (Michael) Urcavich; grandchildren: Phoenix, Jason, Kaylynn, Seven; siblings: Diane (Gary) Thornberg, Vicky Smith, Jacklyn Boucher, Rusty (Barb) Smith, Tom Smith; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by both parents; granddaughter Kaiya; best friend, Jerry Bollenbach. A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel (1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon). The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service, beginning at 4:00pm.

Arrangements under the direction of Ever Rest Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel, Muskegon, MI.
