It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe Lora Clapp, age 74, who left us on Friday, February 14, 2025, in Muskegon, Michigan. Joe was a lifelong resident of Muskegon, born on December 29, 1950, to Tillman Ward Clapp and Lena Pearl Clapp.
Joe was a remarkable individual, known for his unwavering generosity and dependability. He opened his heart and home to many children in need, providing them with love and a safe haven during difficult times. His warmth touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
He had a passion for classic rock music, enjoyed watching movies and television, and loved dining out and making old family recipes. An ardent supporter of Michigan sports teams, Joe found joy in reading Western and Crime/Mystery novels. One of his greatest joys was attending the Summer Celebration concerts each summer, where he could soak in the music and community spirit.
Joe leaves behind his beloved children, Jessica Howard (Shane), Joseph Clapp (Jennifer Kreigh), Nicole Clapp, and Andrew Clapp (Ashley); siblings, Arlene, Norma and Bill; alongside a large extended family that includes many cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, with another on the way this August.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents; brother, Clifford and sisters; Marilyn, Pearl, Betty, and Sandra.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Friday March 7 from 2pm to 4pm at Ever Rest Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Joe’s memory be made to Kids Belong or The American Diabetes Association, reflecting his ongoing commitment to helping others.
