Jack was born in Muskegon Michigan on January 3, 1938, to Duane Brown and Doris Vanderhaden. He attended Ferrysburg Elementary and Grand Haven High School. At the age of 17 he left school and joined the U.S. Marine Corp, where he served for 3 years.
He married Karla Davison in 1961 and shortly thereafter settled in Fruitport where they raised their family.
Jack worked as a carpenter for the Muskegon Local 100, working on various road projects and the Ludington Pump Storage project. Later as an independent builder, he constructed homes for Rycenga Building Company in Grand Haven. He later improved his skill as a wood finisher at Story and Clark Piano Company before completing his work career at Bastian Blessing Food Service Equipment.
As a member of "Walleyes for Tomorrow" Jack spent many happy hours trolling along the shores of Muskegon Lake. He also spent many good times at his deer hunting "cabin in the woods" where family and friends gathered around the poker table to share deer hunting stories.
Jack is survived by his wife, Karla of 64 years, his 4 children; Denise (Gary) Marshall, Janine (Bruce) Coker, Kerry John Brown, and Tracy (Michael) Baer; 7 grandchildren; Michael Boucher, Mindy Hantle, Christopher Boucher, Jonathan Marshall, Gavin Coker, Tara Marshall, and Stephen Baer; 18 greatgrandchildren, one brother Bruce Kenney, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
